D6d is a sub-classification of the D6 class of 4-6-0 locomotives. All D6d locomotives were built by the Saxon Engine works in Germany. The D6 class was originally known as ST 12 but was subdivided in 1908 to reflect the slight variations among the builders of the many ST12s.
