Dominion Atlantic Railway Steam Locomotive No. 540, "Mascarene"
DAR Engine No. 540, probably built in November 1903, a D6d (Saxon). On record in MP14 1944 as a D.A.R. unit (1). According to the notes in the MP14 1944 of J. Mauley, this engine was transferred back to the Ontario district in March of 1946.
A photo of No. 540, labelled "Mascarene", at Truro in D.A.R. livery exists in the Leon Barron collection[1] on page 1121, dated April 13, 1940 at the Kings County Museum.
