This Kingston, Ontario company began building locomotives in 1854 and was commonly known as the Kingston Locomotive Works, although its official names changed several times until 1901 when it became the Canadian Locomotive Company. The company was one of Canada's longest lasting and innovative locomotive builders until it closed in 1969, building over 3000 locomotives including some of the first and last steamers on the DAR.
