Wolfville Freight Shed
The freight shed in Wolfville was built in 1912 at the same time as the Wolfville Station. The station and shed shared a long platform along the DAR mainline and the shed was served by a 510 foot, 12 car spur from a east facing switch which also served several business along Front Street. In the 1980s, a Wolfville entrepreneur purchased a wooden CN caboose which was parked on the freight shed spur for conversion to a snack bar. However the conversion was never completed and the caboose was ultimately demolished. The freight siding was removed shortly after the caboose was delivered and the freight shed was torn down in 1986.[1]
