Built as CPR No. 521, it was transferred to the DAR in May 1937 and was given the name "Halifax", also used by No. 504. It was scrapped in November 1939.

Name Origin: Halifax, capital of Nova Scotia and Earl of Halifax, George Montague, sponsor of settlement in 1749.(1)
