Dominion Atlantic Railway Mail Car No. 3711
One of only 3 wooden mail cars left in the entire C.P.R. system in 1950 along with sister cars No. 3708 and No. 3711, all being on the D.A.R. This was part of a series of 60'-10" mail cars from No. 3708 to 3713 (EO773) that were built in 1908. Built with steel centre sills, steel ends and 4 wheel trucks.[1]
Operational Appearances
From the daily notes of George Parks it is noted that No. 3708 was west bound along with sister mail car No. 3711 off the D.A.R. at Truro on August 17, 1956 as a result of the new Evangeline Dayliner service taking over mail duties.[2]
