Dominion Atlantic Railway 1st Class Coach (with Smoking Room) No. 1427
One of a series (1425 - 1439) of 75'-0" steel with canvas covered wood roof passenger cars weighing 159,800 lbs., with 6 wheel trucks, built in 1923 and with a seating capacity of 74 in the main room and 8 in the smoking room.[1]
Converted to MOW service in 1961.[1]
Operational Appearances
From the daily notes of George Parks it is noted that No. 1427 was west bound along with other passenger and mail cars off the D.A.R. at Truro on August 19, 1956 due to the new Evangeline Dayliner service.[2]
