Dominion Atlantic Railway Steam Locomotive No. 470.

Wheel Arrangement: 4-6-0

Built by Montreal Locomotive Works January 1912.

  • Builder No. 50462
  • 19" x 24" cylinders
  • 63" drivers.
  • CPR Class: D4g

This locomotive was transferred to DAR in 1940 and officially listed as a D.A.R. locomotive in 1941 (1) and 1947 (2). No. 470 was the only D4g on the DAR and retained its CPR livery and number for its entire DAR career.(3) It was regularly assigned locomotive on the Kingsport branchline in the 1940s and 50s. No. 470 was scrapped in Kentville in July 1955.(4)
