Dominion Atlantic Railway Van No. 99.

Andrew Merrilees list indicates that this van was a converted ex-baggage car, originally Baggage Car No. 56, built in 1897 at Rhodes Curry in Amherst, a sister car to baggage cars No. 54 and No. 55. It was converted to a van and re-numbered 99 in October 1921.(1) However a photograph of this van in March 1945 in the Gary Ness Collection show this van to be a Rhodes Curry style van, similar to No. 4.

No. 99 was often used on the rear end of Train No. 99 & Train No. 100, night train with sleeper, coach or freight cars.(2)
