Very early photo of the Avon River "wicker basket" bridge showing the old covered bridge in the forground. On the left is the esplanade of Fort Edward so this photo is taken on the river's east bank looking southwards or up the Avon River. Interesting note that someone wrote on the back of the card Bear River.
