This locomotive was No. 38 "Bear River" on the DAR from 1917 to 1923. (See [[DAR0038]] for details of its earlier career.) It returned to the DAR by 1934 as No. 520 and was renamed "Champlain".(1) Not officially on the DAR roster, it may have been a loaned locomotive given a DAR identity by Kentville Shop crews. Formerly No.38 "Bear River"

Wheel Arrangement: 4-6-0

Built by North British Locomotive Company at Glasgow. Scotland in November 1903.
