Description & History

1969-MemoOfGenInfo lists Middleton as:

  • Population: 1505
  • Junction of Canadian National Railway, Middleton subdivision, 15 miles of which runs parallel to our tracks between Middleton and Bridgetown. Station facilities used by both companies, under D.A.R. control.

Today Middleton is home to the Middleton Railway Museum, located in the old Middleton Station, which interprets the history of both the DAR and the HSW and includes a preserved 4-6-0 locomotive (built in 1905 as Canadian Northern 213, later Canadian National 1274 and finally 1521) acquired in 2020 from the defunct Upper Clements theme park.[1]
