Dominion Atlantic Railway Budd Rail Diesel Car RDC-1 No. 9059

Built August 1956

Budd Serial no. 6318

RDC No. 9059 and its sister unit No. 9058 were the first "Dayliners" on the DAR inaugurating the Evangeline RDC passenger service in 1956. They were the only RDCs lettered for the DAR and were in fact the only RDCs factory lettered for a CPR subsidiary line.

From the daily notes of George Parks it is noted that No. 9059 was east bound and dropped off at Truro on August 1, 1956. George also notes that No. 9059 had mandatory H type shelf couplers, oscillating lights and 13 pin MU receptacles.[1]

Photographic evidence indicates that this unit was in D.A.R. service from 1956 until 1979.

VIA Rail no. 6126 prior to 1993.

Sold to Dallas Area Rapid Transit (Dallas Texas) in 1993.

DART sold to allEarth Rail in 2016 and is currently AEAX No. 2010 reportedly in pristine condition as of 2018.
