Preserved DAR Equipment

DAR locomotive No. 999 "Fronsac" preserved at Exporail in Montreal

Some DAR steam-era equipment have been preserved in various museums right across Canada. Unsung volunteers at museums in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia have saved a representative sample of a DAR rolling stock including a locomotive, passenger cars, a snowplow, steam crane, a passenger car, a van (caboose) and a ship. Sadly the DAR's hometown of Kentville has preserved nothing, turning down every opportunity to preserve locomotives, passenger cars and snowplows and demolishing DAR landmarks such as the Kentville Station and roundhouse.
