Well, it seems that just when you think you have completed a model, something takes place that derails you. So it is (or was) with my DAR Station at Yarmouth. You see - it was NOT red with a black roof at all - it was sort of witish ( a dirty white ?) with a red roof. I guess you don't always remember things the way you saw them when you were young. Anyhow - no matter - the whole mess is now fixed up - at least till somebody somewhere picks up on something else. I quickly repainted her this AM and that bright red is something else to cover with white! ALso, added the platform so the passengers can get on the RDC - if it ever shows up.
Here's how (or approximately how) it should look..........................
Nice Harold. You have the in between version that was probably 1890s to 1920s is my guess. That's the version that the spires were removed after it becames DAR and I surmise that along with a lot of other renovations done throughout the teens and 20's that at that time the "webs" in the gables were removed and then that was the final version.
Those photos you sent our way from Skip now gives us this very complete progression. If it was tuscan red I also surmise that this happened around the 40's along with a lot of other stations and that would definitely be the version that had no "webs" in the gables.
