I'll open a separate forum if enough people want a separate area to discuss Train simulator projects.
For the time being, may I suggest we roll up our sleeves and get rolling on some DAR repaints? Do you realize that there isn't a single DAR piece of equipment on Train-Sim.com. If you're familiar with this site then you'll know that this is probably the largest site in the world for Train Simulator models and the lack of DAR equipment is simply unbelievable.
If enough interest is shown I'll create a separate area for Train Sim downloads.
Box cars, diesel switchers, RDC dayliners, passenger cars if someone has some research indicating what kind of cars there were. I know there were some Pullmans but that's about all I know. I've got one colour picture as well of an RDC in DAR colours that I pulled off the web.

Re: MSTS Modelling
Is that the RDC trailing a heavyweight coach at Yarmouth?
I would love to see a DAR route developed in MSTS II once it hits the market next year. It looks like a vast improvement over the original game. The problem is that it is high end, and many folks will need new computers, including me.

Re: MSTS Modelling
I am collecting MSTS models that will work on the D.A.R. and working on a few repaints starting with Dayliners.
Here's a link to the wiki for a model of 9059:

Re: MSTS Modelling
Hi All,
You are aware that models made for MSTS are not going to be the same format as ones for MSTS 2. That's about all MS will tell people, they will not tell them what format the new modes will be in, just that "old models" will not work in their new sim.
That said there is nothing wrong with drawing a DAR route in the original MSTS. MSTS 2 looks interesting but it's going to be a very long time before there is any size of public library like there is now at train-sim.com.

That's what they said alright!
I think though that what will happen is very quickly in the MSTS community, guys like Paul Gaudsen will come up with conversion utilties. Paul is one of the worlds most prolific geniuses in the MSTS community and has cracked the uncrackable giving us utilities to do things that no one imagined could be done.
