I found this site http://www.canmaps.com/topographic/ns/
which has free topographic maps which you can look at. Though I've figured out a way to download them so I'll be doing that over time, along with my other projects I'm working on. Based on what I've seen the maps are post 1962 (after Kingsport Sub was ripped up and pre 1985 (before Middleton Sub HSW & Truro Sub DAR) were ripped up.
If there is any section that' someone wants done first please let me know, I will be doing the entire province of Nova Scotia and maybe I'll do PEI and part of NB.

Re: Free Topographic
You of course know there are the topo maps on the wiki right? I have the original high res scans which are way too big for the wiki but are available for the asking.

Oh, didn't see that part of the site or I had forgotten about it.
I've got all of Nova Scotia, PEI and Southern Part of NB from the boarder over towards Fredericton and south to Saint John to Moncton.
My plan is to make one giant sectional map of Nova Scotia.
