Wheel Report

Post by Paul Charland »

Need some help. Years ago Andrew Blackburn from Truro sent me an entire year's worth of consists for the Mixed heading south over the DAR. The consists covered every car that was interchanged by the CN. It took a month or so but I wrote down the destination of each can, the car initials, series, and type, and the customer names. I compiled this to eventually be used as a guide to generate traffic on the Microsoft Trainsim route I created.

Eventually I had a hard drive failure and lost all this data but.. I remember sending all this to someone before that happened. I'm sure it must have been someone on this list.

I'm guessing the file would have been named something like 'DAR'75WheelReport' or something similar. If you have a copy of this would you please let me know.

Thanks,

Paul :-)

Hi Paul,

You sent it to me.

I wonder if we can get that info on here somehow.

There's a ton of information there, it should be here for everyone to see. There's an Operations folder where it might go, will the wiki accept it as a zip file... I think it's just an Excel file anyway, not sure what size it is.

Now that they're found, I'll upload them. The wiki accepts Excel files but I'm going to spell check them all first to correct a few spelling mistakes I saw.

Was going to say it wasn't me, as I can recover data from failed/failing hard drives depending if I've got the parts for them or if you had formatted the hard drive can recover stuff after it's been formatted sometimes.

Glad you guys found the document!

Big thanks to Steve,

This was a lot of work to put this together and have the hard drive fail just a couple of weeks later. Had come to the conclusion I'd never see the file again.

There was about the same amount of freight coming out of Halifax/Dartmouth. Combined the little DAR was still doing well before that nasty highway was built.

When I was going through the consists I remember a few movements where a car would spotted somewhere and partially unloaded and then sent further down the line and where the rest of the load was removed.
