I appears that Jason Shron of Rapido Trains is going to have a go at buying VIA 6133... the former DAR 9058. Jason has previously bought VIA 6917 and put it back into running condition, so not only is there hope for this RDC to be returned to running condition, but maybe even be repainted to the original DAR colors (although Jason is partial to VIA).
Rapido Trains is seeking donations to offset the cost of moving the car and with restoration. I'm sure glad 6133 was chosen! There was really no contest with choosing it over the rest of the fleet. She was in service until 2011 whereas the other cars have been neglected for the past 26 years.
There was no mention made of where it is going. I suspect it will be the Orangeville - Brampton RR as that is where ex VIA sleeper Edmunston is going, as well there is a privately owned RDC-9 there, which would be an ideal trailing car.
