Preserved Equipment D.A.R.
Hi, I see Dan has a new listing for ex DAR cars. The last mixed passenger car off the Midland was CP 1720 former 1923 CP 1437 is operating out of Kitchener Waterloo area on the Waterloo Central Railway. It left the DAR sometime after October 28,1979 passenger service elimination on the Truro Sub. It was acquired by the Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa and used behind the steam excursions of CP 1201 named Midway.

CPR 1303 was on the Museum of Science and Tech train out of Ottawa as the "Micmac" and is now part of the South Simcoe Railway in Tottenham, ON. This was the car used on the Mixed from Truro before it was replaced by 1720.

Thanks for these tips. I will update the preserved category when I get a chance. I had an email from the Canada Science and Technology Museum that 1303 had been transferred to the British Columbia Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society in June 2000 and is preserved in their New Westminister warehouse. Has it gone to South Simcoe since? (It'd make a nice match for South Simcoe's CPResque consist.) I know the BC group has some problems - the owner of the warehouse wants to demolish it and build a residential development.
Anybody heard news of the business car Nova Scotia at the roundhouse in downtown Toronto?

We have a page and photo for CP coach 1427 on the Truro run: http://dardpi.ca/wiki/index.php?title=DAR001427
Is it possible that this coach is misidentified and it is actually 1437, the coach preserved in Waterloo?

Here are two photos of 1437 on the Waterloo Central that I took on Aug. 29, 2011. I rode in the coach from Waterloo to St. Jacob's and back that day.

What's with the big picture window? That can't be original.
