Re: Jon Archibald's photos
I saw that before but he's added some more photos since the last time I went.
The 9062 on the trestle is a good one. There's a dirt road running under the trestle and a sign on the roadbed with a (big) 7 and (little) 1 on it. I'd guess it was a mileage marker. Mile 7.1 would be between Fenerty's and South Uniacke on the Halifax sub, Cambridge station was at mile 7.0 of the Kentville sub and Clementsport was at mile 7.4 of the Yarmouth sub.

Re: Jon Archibald's photos
I agree that it must be on the Yarmouth Sub ay Mile 7.1. According to the DAR's 1969 Memorandum, there was a 90 foot pile trestle over a road and small stream at Mile 7.14 near Clementsport. This pretty much what we see in the slide.
Has anyone contacted Dr. Archibald about using his images on the DAR-DPI site? He also has some great colour steam shots.

I'll have to go look at his Flickr Photostream. Hey, he's done a lot since the last time I went thorugh them. What a great collection! You are probably talking about shots like these:

etc
I see he has a lot of John MacIntosh slides that I wans't aware he bought. Some really good ones for the HSWDPI side too.
Jon gave us permission long ago to use his photos on the site. I should however, drop him a line and just double check on picking things off his photo stream, which I will do.

Re: Jon Archibald's photos
Does anyone know if the pile trestle near Clementsport is still standing?
I was thrilled to see that Jon uploaded his McIntosh images, especially the mixed at Chester. It sold for $200!

Re: Jon Archibald's photos
I am guessing but I think the trestle was here on Goggle Earth ( 44 40 10.3N, 65 36 34.3W ) and it looks like it was knocked down to widen an intersection.
My fav of Jon's images is http://www.flickr.com/photos/51896204@N08/7467274312/ but of course I am sucker for anything related to Kingsport in the Kentville yard. Does anyone know what the strange floor structure is in the foreground?

Especially old 470 on what looks like school run! What do you think they are doing on this track anyway?
What is on the ground I believe is the front apron/platform to the north rail entering the car shop. You can also get a good look at it here:

If you look at the aerial shot it almost seems like people used to drive from where the south parking lot is north right across the entrance to the car shop to the power house.

Re: Jon Archibald's photos
I see what you mean about the apron by the car shop. Perhaps the school train's car needed a quick fix.
