Hi:
I'm not sure how to post links directly onto the site, and so I thought that I'd pass these along and maybe you could set these up.
The first one is:
http://www.cnrphotos.com/gallery2/main. ... emId=14433
This is a picture galery of the various dayliners (railiners) numbered in the VIA series. This includes many of the ones that ran on the DAR at some point after VIA took over in 1980. One of the things that I found interesting is that I knew that DAR 9059, one of the two original dayliners on the DAR, had been renumbered 6126, and that eventually it was sold to Dallas Area Rapid Transit. However, I had never seen a picture of it as 6126, and I don't think that it ever returned to the DAR after being renumbered. However, this site has a picture of it as 6126, taken in Truro in 1979.
The other site is:
http://www.trainweb.org/rosters/VIA.html
If you scroll down to the 6000 series, it will show the various dayliners, their original numbers, and the eventual "whatever happened to" for each unit.
Thanks.

Re: Dayliner Links
Hi Jim,
I don't recall seeing a photo of 6126 on the DAR, but now that I've seen a photo of it at Truro, I wonder if it operated on the DAR in its VIA career. I'll ask Doug Conrad about this.
According to the back issues of the Scotian Railroad Society newsletters, VIA assigned specific units to these trains: http://dardpi.ca/wiki/index.php?title=S ... 80-07_News
VIA discovered that sand was being sucked into the motors, so units had to have larger air filters before working the DAR.
Photos of VIA RDC's on the DAR in the early 80's suggest that units had to be equipped with oscallating lights. By the late 80's, pairs of ditch lights had replaced the oscallating light.

Re: Dayliner Links
Thanks for the links Jim. I added them into the RDC category page and 9059's page.
