Remnants of a siding at Hectanooga

Post by RedLink27 »

Took a drive out to Hectanooga (Clare) and found what's left of a siding next to the mainline, on the edge of someone's property. I found the signal base as well, and saw the clear outline of where the siding rejoined the mainline. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of that.

I took a few photos at Hectanooga back in 2009. I was told that the white house next to the tracks might be an old Western Counties station.

There was an eight car single ended siding across the tracks from the station, and a twelve can and two engine double ended siding on the same side as the station towards the north.

Must have used good ties for them to still be there!
