Ken McIlvoy, the "Ashcat"

Ken tells an interesting story about himself and his nickname, the "Ashcat":

When I was still a boy my dad hooked me up with a old boyhood friend of his who was in charge of the engine yard for the CB&Q in Chicago. I worked the summer of 1963 as a "Hostler's Assistant" (the lowest of low jobs on the railroad yard), largely shoveling cinders out of the ash pit from the CB&Q excursion engine 4960 (now on the Grand Canyon Railroad). I got the nickname then and it has just stuck through all these years.
