Summary
Photograph signage of the Cornwallis Fruit Company apple warehouse in Waterville, taken by Randy Rockwell in 2006 shortly before the warehouse was destroyed by fire.
The warehouse was built in 1906 by Ambrose Stanley Banks who owned Orchard Hill Farm and had the Banks Gravenstein named after him. It later became the Cornwallis Fruit Company, a member of the United Fruit Companies co-op and displayed the standard United Fruit signage found on many co-op warehouses.
Featured on a Waterville Village Memories Facebook post by Randy Rockwell, July 21, 2023.
