Summary

Select, boxed apples being loaded onto a DAR or CPR box car at the team track by the freight shed in Kentville, photographed by A.L. Hardy circa 1912. The apples were shipped from Ralph S. Eaton's "Hillcrest Farm" in the Middle Dyke area.[1] The Kentville located determined by Chris Gertridge based on the Baptist Church steeple on the right and the original Kings County Academy building on the left. Phil Vogler located this photo published in the Farmer's Magazine (July-December 1912) captioned "BETTER THAN A GOLD MINE, Loading select apples for the Old Country market. Photo by A. L. Hardy"[2].
