Locomotive No. 2501 leading Train No. 11 headed west towards Yarmouth while loading passengers at the Kentville Station in Kentville on August 1, 1958. This is one of a series of shots that day documenting the arrival of Dayliner No. 9058 to the departure of No. 2501. On the left side is van No. 435797. This is also a sister photo to B&W photo Image:DAR2501c.jpg in which the description indicates that "No. 2501 4-6-2 with combine and steel coach coupling on to Dayliner at Kentville preparing to leave for Yarmouth on July 31, 1958." It is interesting to note that since 1956, this passenger service was being served by Dayliners but because of heavy traffic that day, steam loco and regluar passenger cars were pressed into service for that day adding the Dayliner car on to the end.
