Original Ansco Color Slide, August 1949, New Yarmouth Station, showing CPR & DAR mixed night train. Left to right are freight cars, wood baggage, steel sheathed sleeper, wood coach and converted passenger car used as a caboose.

JIm O'Donnell in an email on March 13, 2011 writes: Previously thought to be No. 91, this should be van No. 92. (No. 1 & No. 92 were very similar in appearance, but No. 91 had no belt rail – this was lost in resheathing while it was still numbered No. 32. However No. 92 had its belt rail for a good part of its career, as well as the window arrangement shown. Actually in most of my photos of that side (early ‘40s) it had 5 windows between the baggage door and the near end. You can see a different shade of paint on the first two sheathed over, then two windows, then there was one more which has been covered up before the door. These were the only two vans with that particular roof shape, as the only other passenger car looking van, second No. 98, had straight ends on the roof. I have never seen a picture of 1st No. 98, so have no idea what it looked like.

This slide unlike the Kodachrome John normally used turned horribly red with age. At the time of scanning this was the best colour restoration that could be done. In the future I may rescan and try again with newer techniques and software.
