A ``C`` is on the upper left from the makers mark.
On the top side is a green band around the inside rim, four green ovals encircled by a wreath and bow and separated by a green line with a loop at each end. All of these are under a clear glaze.
NARRATIVE: This object was found in the spring of 2005 by the firm of Neill & Gunter Ltd., a Design & Consulting Engineer Co. working for the town of Kentville to clean up the former Dominion Atlantic Railway (Canadian Pacific) lands located at the western end of the Town of Kentville. It is part of a large collection of artifacts unearthed near the railway roundhouse and was donated to the museum in the fall of 2005.
DESCRIPTION: Circular in shape, shallow foot rim, white, glazed with green decorations. Repair work was done sometime in the past with a few small lumps of dried adhesive along the crack which is clearly right through the whole thickness of the plate.
HISTORY OF USE: Original owner is Dominion Atlantic Railway (1894 to 1911). Canadian Pacific Railway was the owner after 1911. It is likely that these artifacts were part of the dining service on the train.
