Caption from Facebook Post: This freight shed has more of a story than we realized. (Thanks, BTW, to those who shared their memories playing here while growing up.) Would you believe the building was also moved from a different spot in town??
From The Spectator of June 19, 1913, talking about the new station to be built: "The freight shed now part of the old station will be moved to a location near to the oil tank of the Imperial Oil Co."
And then from The Spectator of January 15, 1914: "The old freight shed goes slowly on its way. It has passed the water tank and next week will find a resting place near the new station. It has been a task of considerable magnitude to move the old building."
It originally sat near the original train station at the foot of St James Street, in what's now the Farmers Market parking lot.
