George Parks (1922) is a Truro native who worked for the C.N.R. for his entire career. He was in Truro for 17 years with the C.N.R. until he transferred and moved on to other C.N.R. locations. George took photos of every line, every car and every engine he could across Nova Scotia and much of Canada. He has an extensive collection of photographs and is pleased to know that so many enjoy his photos he traded to others.[1]
Whenever George got to the D.A.R., he would take "photos of everything in the Kentville yard whenever he got the chance. He was from Truro, so would only get to Kentville once in a while, and would make good use of the opportunity." "He took a lot of photos, and took a lot of extra shots often, then traded and sold negs all across the country. His photos can come from a lot of different people, and of course can easily come with no credits, wrong locations and dates."[2]
Parks also appears to have collaborated or traded photographs with Harold Jenkins as many of Jenkins prints show up in the Parks Collection.
