MISSION
To celebrate our community's heritage, arts, and culture through research, preservation, interpretation, and exhibitions.
MANDATE
The museum will contribute to this communal vision by undertaking professional research and by providing resources which enable the public to undertake their own research. The museum also collects, documents, and preserves records and artifacts that promote and conserve our local heritage while fostering strong relationships with community partners.

The DesBrisay Museum is a member of the Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM). The Association has an access website called NovaMuse.ca which displays photographs and allows use of these photographs with the following requirements: "Image use must be for education or personal purposes only. The contributing institution must be credited."
