Dominion Atlantic Railway Steam Locomotive No. 28, "Pioneer".
Wheel Arrangement: 2-6-0
Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in April 1904.

- 17.5" x 24" cylinders
- 56" drivers.
No. 28 was the only 2-6-0 to serve on the Dominion Atlantic. The locomotive was built by Baldwin in 1904 for the Midland Railway which ran from Windsor to Truro as Midland Railway No. 4 "Pioneer". The DAR acquired the locomotive along with three others when they bought the Midland Line in 1905. It was sold to the Sissiboo Pulp and Paper Company in Weymouth in 1921.(1)
Name Origins: Tribute to pioneers of the Midland district.
