We'd like to identify the location, date taken and the number of the locomotive.
It is locomotive 131, but I am certain it is not a DAR locomotive. Last week I had a look at the 8 x 10 print at the Nova Scotia Archives and Records Management. On the print, you can clearly see the number 131 on the smokebox number plate. However the DAR did not have any locomotive 131 and it can't be a loaned CPR locomotive because Irvine the photographer moved to Alberta in 1907, before the CPR bought the DAR. I think it is most likley an Intercolonial Railway locomotive on the Halifax and Southwestern. The Archives has mistakently catalogued a number of Irvine's photos of the HSW as DAR.

OK Dan since you say it may not be DAR, my initial impression was Windsor Junction. I wish I could see what is on the RHS of the platform. Ric
