Built as CPR No. 965, it was renumbered CPR 544 in April 1908. It arrived on the DAR by 1929(1) and was given the name "Herbert". The locomotive was transferred to DAR ownership in May 1937 and scrapped in April 1944.(2)

Name Origin: Louis Hebert, apothecary with Champlain and DeMonts at Port Royal in 1604.(3)

DAR Engine No. 544, built between 1903 and 1904, a D6d Saxon.
