These are a couple pictures looking east at the Acaciaville station (mile 24.2 of the Yarmouth sub) in approx. 1927. I hope they can be enjoyed and moved to the DAR preservation site as I haven’t seen any other pictures of this particular station. Note the east switch of the siding in the first picture and the mail crane I believe in both pictures. There was a freight shed on the opposite side of tracks. The siding extended across Jordantown road, and at a later date was shortened to just the east side of the road. In the final couple of years it was removed completely. I just vaguely can remember the shortened siding with a rusted old CPR boxcar parked there. In the second picture, a young lady is seated on the far left next to her father. This lady would later become like a grandmother to me. The hours I used to spend listening to the history of our little community, and how in her childhood, centered on the DAR. Miss them both.
