Summary
Photograph of the collision in Mount Denson July 23, 1894, between the eastbound Cherry Excursion with six passenger coaches pulled by W&AR No. 10 "Kentville" on the right and a westbound ore train pulled by W&AR No. 4 "Blomidon" on the left. They collided at the Pentz bridge and embankment, 1/4 mile west of the Mount Denson Station. Five crew were injured in the collision: Engineer William Taylor, Fireman W. McNair, Albert Rathburn and Trainman George Dennison in Engine No. 10's train; and Engineer Fred Miller in Engine No. 4. The tender of Engine No. 10 was driven inside the lead coach, but the coach was fortunately not occupied as all passengers were in the rear coaches.
