Ltownwarehouse.JPG(700 × 423 pixels, file size: 195 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

The Lawrencetown Fruit Company co-operative apple warehouse, an example of the first generation style of apple warehouse, in full operation during the apple shipping season, circa 1890. This warehouse is believed to have later become part of the M. W. Graves evaporator complex in Lawrencetown which was destroyed by fire in February 1938. Note short length of this early warehouse, approximately 75 to 80 feet (just big enough to load two 36 foot box cars), in contrast to the 100, 200 and 300 foot lengths of later apple warehouses.
