Description & History
The Scotch Village station was built under the Midland Railway (1898 - 1905) before the line was taken over by Dominion Atlantic Railway in 1905. There was a siding (~100m length) which was on the north side of the main line with the station in between the siding and mainline. The siding was used mostly for local freight traffic along with the freight shed.
Some of the local freight is believed to have been farm equipment, lumber, and possibly produce & livestock. A local resident remembers that the train would bring in some box cars on it's afternoon/evening trips to Truro then the next morning on the way back to Windsor stop and pick up the box cars again.
