The Kentville Advertiser

The Advertiser newspaper was the weekly newspaper for Kentville. It began about 1892 and became the leading newspaper for Kentville and surrounding areas. As the newspaper for the headquarter town of the DAR, the Advertiser contained countless articles about the railway, including regular columns about the railway such as "The Dispatcher's Office" in the late 1920s and George Bishop's column "Railway Notes" from 1936 to 1939. The paper remained independent for many years until bought by Transcontinental chain in the 1990s. It was merged with the Berwick Register in the early 2000s, becoming a brand for the Kings County News as the Kings County Advertiser/Kings County Register and was purchased by the Saltwire chain of The Chronicle Herald in 2017.
