It received a station in 1914[1] and continued to be listed as a station until about 1943.

The station name however caused some confusion as it was located in what was generally known as Smith's Cove. However the DAR had already established a Smith's Cove Station near the Big Joggins Bridge, so the name Imbertville was used for the station in Smith's Cove.[2]
