Dominion Atlantic Railway Diesel Locomotive No. 6560.
An S-3 Alco built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1956 (order no. 4015, serial no. 81547) and delivered to the D.A.R. in Kentville on July 1, 1956. This and sister unit No. 6561 were the only diesels that were ever lettered for the Dominion Atlantic.
They proved too light and underpowered and by 1958 were replaced by GMD SW1200RS.
They were transferred to Thunder Bay, Ontario and later to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Reportedly they were both scrapped in the early 80's after being involved in accidents. This unit is known to have been scrapped in May of 1982.
