Joggins is an inlet of the Annapolis Basin next to [[Digby]] fed by two tidal channels. It required a pair of bridges for the DAR to cross, the [[Little Joggins Bridge]] and the [[Big Joggins Bridge]]. (See each for details.) Both were initially built as long wooden trestles with moveable spans, part of the difficult and expensive bridging between [[Digby]] and [[Annapolis Royal]] which along with the [[Bear River Bridge]] and the [[Clementsport Bridge]] were the "missing link" which delayed the Digby-Annapolis connection for years.
