MARKS/LABEL: All of the following markings are under a clear glaze on the top of the cover. Crest with a picture of Evangeline in the middle and the letters ``DOMINION ATLANTIC RAILWAY`` at the top on a clear, white background and ``LAND OF EVANGELINE ROUTE`` also on a clear white background circling along the bottom.

Button filial has a thin green line around outside edge and another less than a centimetre inside of it.
Green band around inside edge of top of rim with four green ovals encircled by a wreath and bow and separated by a green line with a loop at each end. All of these are under a clear glaze.
NARRATIVE: This object was found in the spring of 2005 by the firm of Neill & Gunter Ltd., a Design & Consulting Engineer Co. working for the town of Kentville to clean up the former Dominion Atlantic Railway (Canadian Pacific) lands located at the western end of the Town of Kentville. It is part of a large collection of artifacts unearthed near the railway roundhouse and was donated to the museum in the fall of 2005.
DESCRIPTION: Two soup covers: both circular in shape, button shaped finial, domed cover, small foot rim, white, glazed body with green decorations and some rust discolouration and minor scratches. One has a large piece missing, some smaller chips and is approximately half of original size. Second one is intact.
HISTORY OF USE: Original owner is Dominion Atlantic Railway (1894 to 1911). Canadian Pacific Railway was the owner after 1911. It is likely that these artifacts were part of the dining service on the train.
