Built by Sashsische Maschinenbau A.G., Chemnitz, Germany (Saxon Locomotive Machine Works) in November 1903.

- 63' 3" overall pilot to tender coupler

Built as CPR No. 965, it was renumbered CPR 544 in April 1908. It arrived on the DAR by 1929(2) and was given the name "Herbert".
