Dominion Atlantic Railway Steam Locomotive No. 8, Weymouth.

This was orginally a WCR locomotive but retained it's number and name after being acquired by the D.A.R. (1)

At the time of the gauge change from broad to standard on the W&AR, this unit may have been a different locomotive named "Benedict" and was subsequently traded to the Dominion government along with 9 other locomotives (Nos. 1-9) for new standard gauge locomotives. It is unknown if this unit was one of the 6 units converted to standard gauge after the trade to serve in the building of the CPR in the west. (2)
