W&A locomotive No. 2 "Gabriel", later DAR No. 13 at the Annapolis Royal Station, photographed by the Palace Rail Road Car Photographic Company in June 1885, believed to be decorated to celebrate the wedding of John William King to Rachael A. Redden on June 16, 1885 in Kentville.[1] Also note the first Annapolis Royal Freight Shed on the left, as well as an early baggage car and two passenger coaches.
The photograph was published in an Chronicle Herald article, circa 1960, by "J. B. King" (H. B. Jefferon). King identifies the locomotive and notes that it is decorated to mark the marriage of an IOOF member named Mr. King to a Miss Reed (Redden).
