Joggins is an inlet of the Annapolis Basin next to Digby which splits into two tidal channels. The Joggins required a pair of railway bridges, the Little Joggins Bridge and the Big Joggins Bridge. (See each for details.) Both were initially built as long wooden trestles with moveable spans, part of the difficult and expensive bridging between Digby and Annapolis Royal which along with the Bear River Bridge and the Clementsport Bridge were the "missing link" which delayed the Digby-Annapolis connection for years.
