Laura de Boer is Vice President and a senior archaeologist at Davis MacIntyre & Associates Limited archaeology consulting company in Halifax. She has a Master’s degree in European Historical Archaeology from the University of Sheffield in the UK and a B.A. in Anthropology from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. Laura has practiced archaeological field surveys since 2006. She specializes in the archaeology of industrialization and in standing building archaeology. She has worked on a number of important railway sites. This includes leading an investigation into the foundry of the Albion Railway in Stellarton, one of the earliest railway terminal shops in Canada. Laura also serves on the board of Industrial Heritage Nova Scotia.
