Dominion Atlantic Railway Diesel Locomotive No. 6560.

An S-3 Alco built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1956 (order no. 4015, serial no. 81547) and delivered to the D.A.R. in Kentville on July 1, 1956. This and sister unit No. 6561 were the only diesels that were ever lettered for the Dominion Atlantic.

They proved too light and underpowered for the gypsum runs and by 1959 were replaced by GMD SW1200RS units.[1]

They were transferred to Thunder Bay, Ontario and later to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. They were both scrapped in the early 80's after being involved in accidents.

This unit is known to have been transferred to Weston shops after the accident on September 23, 1981 and officially retired on May 18 of 1982.[1]
